I love to garden and use its contents constantly in my work, sometimes planting just for a painting. We have planted many trees and are set against a small wood so have an abundance of reference material. The range 'Garden birds' has a different tree in each, I was able to sit and draw them all al fresco!
My love of Art was nurtured by the most brilliant art teacher at secondary school, from there I went to Art College and studied a two year diploma in Art & Design and was all set to take my place at University when a family bereavement changed our lives. I continued to paint developing my own style and selling original pieces. The introduction of digital printing was a revelation it enabled me to test the water, firstly at small country shows and then at larger retail events. I attended my first trade show in 2008 and now exhibit at several each year, I still get a buzz taking orders and meeting all the different customers, I think many are now used to the fact I'm great at remembering faces and not so good at remembering names!
I paint throughout the year adding new ranges, I also undertake commissions. The materials are so important; the quality of the card is paramount with every card as beautiful to hold as it is to view. Supporting local business is also important to me, the cards are printed just eight miles way and I use a local courier company.
My cards and prints are stocked up and down the country and can be found in Europe and as far away as Australia.
Thank you to everyone who stock my cards and the continued support of my retail customers.
Some commissions have been very large! The centre of three blinds.
My raised beds in the autumn ready for painting.
